Swedish Heritage Society meets
The regular meeting of the Swedish Heritage Society was held Monday evening, May 13, at the Swedesburg Museum.
Special guests were the Holt family and their exchange student who is spending this school year with them in New London. Maria Kraft is from the town of Hudiksvall on the east coast of Sweden in the province of Hälsingland. She had many interesting things to inform the group about Sweden.
Several items of business were discussed. Volunteers are needed on the committees for the pancake breakfasts on June 1 and July 6. The menu of pancakes with lingonberries, rolls, ham, korv, juice and coffee will remain the same. The hours of 8 to 11 a.m. will also remain the same.
The group has received confirmation that the Scandinavian Quartet from Sweden will be here again to provide the music for the Midsummer celebration on June 25. Ron Johnson has consented to provide the music for the raising of the maypole at 7 p.m.
