Tiger track sets second-best mark in school history
The Iowa Wesleyan College track and field teams opened up their outdoor season at the Washington University Invitational in St. Louis over the weekend.
The Tigers kicked off the outdoor season with several strong performances, including the 4x400-meter relay that had the second-fastest time in school history.
The team of Anthony Harris, Raul Becerril, Duane Lee, and Michael Klostermann ran a time of 3:25.10 to finish seventh overall.
Klostermann also set a personal best by more than 1.5 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles, running a time of 56.40 to place 10th.
The Tigers also went 4-for-4 in setting personal bests in the 1,500-meter run. On the women's side, Marissa Bozik ran 6:13.80, while Katie Bang crossed the line in 7:01.39. Jake Ayers led the men with a 4:19.94, with Lance Ingwersen following in 5:07.54.
Ayers also set a personal best in the 800 (2:03.55), running the fifth-fastest in school history. His time in the 1,500 was also an improvement on his No. 5 mark in IWC history.
Jonathon Olson highlighted the weekend in the throws with a personal best throw in the discus of 37.60 meters (123-4).
