NEW LONDON — The New London softball team played a different soft of doubleheader last night, taking on first Harmony and then Cardinal and splitting with the two teams.
The Tigers won the game against Harmony by a score of 12-2 and then lost to Cardinal, 2-0.
Against Harmony, the Tigers gave up two early runs but had a big comeback in the middle innings, including a six-run fourth frame, to claim the win.

Victoria Noel and Jorgi Krieger each hit two doubles, and Noel knocked in four runs. Emily Parks, Morgan Christner and Kristen Allen also had a pair of hits each. Pry and Christner split time on the mound, with Christner getting the win.
Against Cardinal, New London gave up two runs in the third inning and the Tigers were unable to get across the plate themselves.
Christner took the loss. Pry led the Tigers with two hits. Four other Tigers had one hit each: Koontz, Christner, Noel and Krieger. Josten Boyer walked.
New London is now 27-9 on the season and 8-4 in the SEISC South.
They don’t play again until the regional tournament starts. They have a first-round bye, so their first game will be on Wednesday, July 10, against the winner of Monday’s game between Harmony and Moulton-Udell.
