Tigers cruise past Central Lee
DONNELLSON — Four players scored in double figures for the New London boys’ basketball team, leading the Tigers to a 68-57 win over Central Lee on Tuesday night.
As a team, the Tigers had their highest score of the season in the nonconference game, led by Cameron Watson’s 21 points.
Dalton Dudley chipped in 15 points, Tristan Kadel added 13 and Jayden Flowers scored 11 in the win.
As a team, New London went 23-for-51 (45.1 percent) from the field, including five-for-nine (55.6 percent) from behind the 3-point line. They were 17-for-25 from the free throw line.
The Tigers took an early lead in the road game, going up 19-5 in the first quarter. They held a 27-14 lead at halftime and posted a big second half to hold on for the win.
Watson finished with a double-double, as he pulled down 10 rebounds to go with his 21 points. Kadel grabbed nine boards.
Matayo Christianer dished three assists; Kadel and Austin McBeth had two steals each.
The Tigers are now 3-10 overall this season and 3-8 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference South Division.
They will host Cardinal on Friday. The JV girls play first, at 4:30 p.m., followed by the varsity girls and the varsity boys.
