Tigers drop SLIAC match
The Tigers' volleyball team split two matches on Saturday, defeating non-conference opponent Hannibal-LaGrange University (25-19, 25-23, 19) but falling to conference opponent Principia College (25-19, 25-23, 25-17).
Dakota Flesner and Marissa Bozik led the offensive attack for the purple and white. Flesner recorded 21 kills on the day, including 12 against Hannibal-LaGrange. Bozik added 17 kills on Saturday, with 10 of them helping lead the Tigers to the win.
Lindsey Johnson recorded 43 assists, including 30 in the win.
Logan Chiri once again played strong defensively for the Tigers. Chiri had 31 digs in the two matches. She also recorded three aces on the day.
The Tigers are now 8-16 overall and 5-5 in the SLIAC. They return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 8 when they travel to Galesburg, Ill. to take on Knox College. The match is set for 7 p.m.
