Tigers score five in seventh to win, 6-5
NEW LONDON — Jayden Flowers persevered.
The New London pitcher was touched for 13 hits and five runs, but he completed what he started, hurling the Tigers to a 6-5 win over West Burlington.
It took a huge rally from the Tigers to seize the victory. Down 5-1 in the bottom of the seventh, New London plated five runs to escape. During that seventh inning, the losers used three pitchers in vain to control the winners’ hitting attack.
Flowers also led the winners’ hitting with a trio of singles and two RBIs in four plate appearances.
Other Tigers with one hit each were Reno Chiri, Quincy Porter, Hunter Moeller, Justin Henecke, Cole Helmerson and Cameron Watson.
