Tigers struggle against Principia
The Iowa Wesleyan College soccer teams had a rough go against Principia College on Saturday in Elsha, Ill. The Tiger men fell 7-1 while the women were shut out, 13-0.
Tyler Hitt scored the lone goal for the Tigers in the men's game. Hitt's goal came in the 57th minute. The Panthers scored four goals in the first half and tacked on three more in the last 45 minutes of play.
On the day, the IWC men took 14 shots, putting seven on goal.
The Tigers fall to 0-10 on the year and 0-3 in the SLIAC.
In the women's game, the Tigers managed just six shots while the Panthers' attack was relentless, taking 44 shots.
The loss drops the Tigers to 1-7 on the year and 0-3 in the SLIAC.
The IWC men's and women's soccer teams play again Wednesday when they host Monmouth College at East Lake Park. The women play at 2 p.m. and the men at 4 p.m.
