Trenton UMW holds meeting
Trenton’s UMW met on Nov. 8, at the Pizza Hut with five members present. Melva Sammons opened the meeting by reading “November Spellings.”
Roll call was given by telling of Thanksgiving traditions. Secretary’s report was read by Marilyn Alter and was approved. There were no get-well cards sent out. No bills were presented for this month. Health and sewing kits were completed and turned in.
Oct. 17 the church hosted a light supper for Dr. and Mrs. Mefor from Nigeria, who spoke on their missions. Max and Linda Lance put them up for the night and the next day took them to Washington to continue their travels.
New business: the group will put their Christmas plates together for the shut-ins, of fruits, candies, nuts, etc., and deliver them before Christmas.
They will give a check to Barb Lynchard for her kids at the Tolson Community Action Center.
Birthdays for November are Effie Miller and Charolette Zihlman.
The next meeting will be at Marilyn Alters’s home.
The meeting was closed by Melva reading “Thanksgiving on the Farm.”
