TTT committee expresses its gratitude to the community
To the editor:
The TTT Tour of Homes Committee would like to thank the Mt. Pleasant News and KILJ radio station for their coverage of the recent tour and craft fair on Nov. 24 and especially the public for their support.
As you know, without the community support, our fund-raiser would not be as successful. As local community members opened their homes for the tour, the public embraced and supported the tour so that we may send young girls to camp in the summer.
In recent years we have been able to send five very excited little girls to camp. The girls spend a week meeting other girls and making new friendships, learning about nature and too many things to mention.
We do know this simple act of sending someone to camp can have a far reaching effect on someone, as many times when we are selling tickets someone will have known someone who either went to camp or were a camp girl themselves.
As the times change and society becomes more wary of sharing its time and homes it is with great gratitude that we thank the homeowners who open their homes to us and share how they celebrate the holiday season.
A special thanks to all the local crafters who came and shared their hand-crafted items. It always means more when you know the individual who has made the item and can tell the story that goes along with it.
We are already looking forward to November 2014 and planning our next Tour of Homes and Craft Fair.
