UPCOMING BLOOD DRIVES
The following are upcoming Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center blood drives happening in the local area:
-The New London Lions Club will host a community blood drive from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 106 N. Division St., inside the New London Community Hall.
-The Danville community will host a blood drive from 1:30 to 6:30 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 108 N. Main St, inside the Bob Dodds Insurance Meeting Room.
-Faith Christian Outreach Church will host a community blood drive from 3 to 6 p.m., on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 1302 E. Washington St., inside the multipurpose room.
-The Henry County community will host a blood drive from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Friday, Feb. 10, at 1400 E. Washington St., inside the Meeting Room.
Potential donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 with parental permission form available through www.bloodcenter.org) and weigh more than 110 pounds. A photo I.D. is required to donate.

Blood donation is a safe, simple procedure that takes about 45 minutes to one hour. Individuals with diabetes or controlled high blood pressure may be accepted as eligible donors.
