Virgie Lovetta Laughlin
Virgie Lovetta Laughlin, 82, of Davenport, and formerly of New London, died on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Good Samaritan Home, in Davenport.
The funeral service for Laughlin was held at 2 p.m., on Monday, March 20, 2017, at Elliott Chapel, in New London. Rev. Rod Cooper officiated. Visitation began at 9 a.m., with the family present to greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment was held at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, of Henry County.
A memorial has been established for Good Samaritan Society, in Davenport.
Laughlin was born on Nov. 1, 1934, in Stahl, Mo., the daughter of David Anderson and Lillie Ann Akers Sizemore. She graduated from high school in Novinger, Mo., in 1952. She married Bernard Randolph McDonald in 1952, in Green City, Mo. He preceded her in death. On July 25, 1987, she married Maurice Laughlin, in Danville. He also preceded her in death.
She was a production/factory worker at Metromail and Alaniz.
She was a longtime member of New London Christian Church.
She enjoyed birdwatching, gardening and reading.
Laughlin is survived by one daughter, Berna Kay (Richard) Ramza, of Davenport; two granddaughters; one grandson; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, her parents, four brothers and two sisters.
