Vivian L. Saint
Vivian L. Saint, 86, Mt. Pleasant and formerly of Keokuk and Wichita, Kan., died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at the Pleasant Manor Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be at a later date and time in the Chapel of the First United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant. Burial will take place in the White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Wichita. The Kimzey Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant, is assisting with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church. Online condolences may be directed to www.kimzeyfuneralhome.com.
She was born June 12, 1927, in Garden City, Kan. She was the daughter of John Fredrick and Laura Belle (Patton) Riffel. She graduated from North High School in Wichita in 1945.
She worked in a chicken processing plant, then for Cowie Electric and finally the Wichita Beacon. On Jan. 26, 1947, she married William Evan Saint. He preceded her in death.
The couple later moved to Keokuk. In 1965, she became a Library Aide at the Keokuk High School. She became a Teacher’s Aide at Keokuk Jr. High in 1968. She later worked for an optometrist in Keokuk and then became as sales associate at the Keokuk Pamida store. The couple moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1991.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Keokuk where she served as the Financial Secretary for 12 years. Also at Trinity, she was a leader for the MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship). She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. She was also a member of United Methodist Women; PEO Sisterhood, Chapter NZ of Mt. Pleasant; Mt. Pleasant Women’s Club and the Coterie Club. She enjoyed playing bridge.
She is survived by her son, Leslie of Milwaukee, Wis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister.
