MEDIAPOLIS — The Winfield-Mt. Union boys won their fourth game in a row on Tuesday night with a comeback win over Mediapolis.

The Wolves trailed by three points after three quarters but a 23-point fourth allowed them to steal a road win, 49-41.

Mediapolis took a 13-7 lead in the first quarter but W-MU was able to cut the lead to 22-20 at halftime with a 13-9 advantage of their own.

In a defensive third quarter, the Bulldogs were able to outscore the Wolves, 7-6. That led to a 29-26 advantage going into the fourth.

The Wolves, which are no strangers to big fourth quarter performances this year, had another trick in the bag in the final period.

W-MU outscored Mediapolis 23-12 in the final period to pick up a big eight-point win in the SEISC North.

B.J. Rodgers led W-MU with 16 points in the win. He hit two of the Wolves’ four three-pointers. The other two threes came from Jordan Hudson, who had 13 points and seven rebounds. Rodgers and Hudson also had three steals apiece.

Bryce Robison filled the stat sheet again with nine points, 14 rebounds and four assists. Brock Fricke had seven points and three assists. Cody McCreight rounded out the W-MU scores with six rebounds.

The Wolves moved to 5-4 with the win. They’ll have a big challenge on Friday, Jan. 6, at Lone Tree. The boys’ game on Friday night will begin at 7:30 p.m.
