W-MU volleyball rolls through Columbus
COLUMBUS JUNCTION — The Winfield-Mt. Union volleyball team came up with another conference win on Thursday, sweeping Columbus in three sets: 25-17, 25-14 and 25-10.
The Class 1A seventh-ranked Wolves are now 7-2 overall and 2-0 in the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North Division.
Erica Robison had 11 kills for W-MU, followed closely by Shelby Therme with 10. Sam Jamison put down five kills. Robison, Emily Mathews and Nicole Escher each had two blocks.
Brooke Jennings had 15 assists and Taylor Rodgers had 13.
Jennings also led the team in serving, going 22-for-23 with a pair of aces. Rogers was a perfect 14-for-14. Robison and Therme each served an ace.
Darby Harris and Therme each had 12 digs in the match, and Layne Davis had nine.
W-MU plays Saturday at the Wilton Tournament.
