W-MU, WACO boys compete at Warrior Relays
WAYLAND — The WACO boys’ track and field team placed fifth of nine teams at its home meet on Tuesday; Winfield-Mt. Union came in ninth at the Warrior Relays.
WACO’s only win on the day came from Dylan Carlson in the 110-meter hurdles; he took gold with his time of 15.75 seconds.
The Warriors got second-place finishes from Klinton Garrett in the 800 with a time of 2:08.72; from the 4x100-meter relay team, and from Kevin Anderson, who tied for second in high jump at 5-10.
Anderson also claimed a third-place finish for WACO in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.67 seconds.
In the 800, WACO’s Braden Blake placed third with a time of 2:09.30, and the Warriors also took third in the shuttle hurdle with a time of 1:06.48.
Their final third-place finish came from Jorge Chacone in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 11:26.74.
For W-MU, Max Fricke placed third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 54.43 seconds, and Kyle Davis threw 39-1 3/4 in the shot put for another bronze medal.
The Wolves also had a third-place finish in the 4x400 with a time of 3:45.67 and in the sprint medley with a time of 4:08.10.
Next up for both teams is the Winfield-Mt. Union Invite, which will be on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in Winfield.
