WAYLAND — The Winfield-Mt. Union and WACO boys’ track and field teams each picked up a few first-place finishes to come in fourth and fifth, respectively, at the Warrior Relays hosted by WACO on Tuesday.

Dylan Carlson broke the tape of the 110-meter high hurdles in a time of 15.02 seconds at his home meet, and he anchored the 4x100-meter relay team to another gold medal.

The Drake-qualifying quartet of Brett Hesseltine, Cornell Hulme, Bryce Achen and Carlson finished in 44.75 seconds, their fastest time of the season.

For the Wolves, Max Fricke claimed another 400-meter run title, crossing the line in 52.08 seconds.

He later anchored the 4x400 relay to a win in 3:40.02.

The Wolves’ final win came from Kyle Davis in the shot put, with a throw of 43-11 3/4.
