DANVILLE — The WACO basketball teams played their first doubleheader of the year on Tuesday night, where both teams were upended by Danville.

Danville came out of the locker rooms hot, winning the third quarter, 18-7. WACO outscored the Bears, 13-11 in the fourth quarter but had to settle for a 21-point loss.
Kiana Miller continued her nice start to the season with 13 points, including two makes from three-point land. Halle Kissell scored nine points. Clara Schmidt had eight. Kristen Conley finished with seven. Nadiyah Brown had four, and Kasey Sutton and Ashleigh Hallett scored one apiece.
The Warrior boys had a tough draw with the defending conference champions in their first game.
Danville dominated the first half, 45-17, and cruised through the last two quarters for a 40-point win.
Jacob Fried hit three shots from down town to lead the Warriors with nine points. Wyatt Harbison scored eight points. Beau Beckler had six. Mathew Leichty and Colton Horak had three points apiece, and Connor Eichelberger and Jason Sammons had two each.
