Warriors compete at Highland

RIVERSIDE — The WACO girls’ track and field team placed third of four teams and the boys were fifth of six teams at the Highland Co-Ed Meet on Monday evening.

The Warrior girls were led by Jennie Greene’s first-place finish in the long jump (14-8 1/4) and Jalyssa Jepson’s 100-meter hurdles win with a time of 17.80 seconds.

The team also got a gold medal from the shuttle hurdle team of Jepson, Stefanie Aerni, Aaliyah Brown and Erika Leichty (1:15.67).

Second-place finishes for the WACO girls came from Rosemary Skriver in the high jump (4-10), the distance medley team of Trilby Frier, Skriver, Sara Conwell and Gaby Wagler (4:55.46), and the 4x200-meter relay team of Angel Frier, Skriver, Greene and Katelyn White (1:56.99).

On the boys’ side, Dylan Carlson had a pair of first-place finishes in the 110-meter hurdles (15.50 seconds) and the 400-meter hurdles (58.86 seconds), while Kevin Anderson won the high jump (5-10).

The Warriors also got a win from their shuttle hurdle team (1:03.35), and their distance medley team placed second (3:55.03).

Boys

Long jump — 3. Bryce Achen, 18-1 3/4. 100 — 6. Brett Hesseltine, 11.99. 200 — 3. Kevin Anderson, 24.25. 400 — 5. Klinton Garrett, 56.36.
