Weather takes its toll
Wayne Humphreys of Columbus Junction brought stalks of corn from his fields to Tuesday morning’s meeting with the governor to show how poorly the crop is faring in this summer’s heat. Governor Terry Branstad along with many other top officials held a public meeting at the Mt. Pleasant High School gym Tuesday morning to discuss the drought situation throughout the state.
