Woodwind specialist Sarah Roberts to play at Iowa Wesleyan College

Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra (SEISO) is proud to present woodwind specialist Sarah Roberts as artist in residence for 2014. Roberts will perform for more than 20 schools, community and service groups throughout southeast Iowa from March 11 to 23.
This year, Roberts will perform David Canfield’s Concerto after Gliére for Alto Saxophone and Orchestra. In addition, she will perform Saint-Saëns’ Tarantelle for Clarinet, Flute and Orchestra with her twin sister Rachel Roberts. Performances will be held Saturday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m. at Burlington Memorial Auditorium; Sunday, March 23, at 3 p.m. at Indian Hills College’s St. John Auditorium in Ottumwa and again at 7:30 p.m. in the Iowa Wesleyan College Chapel Auditorium, Mt. Pleasant.
A native of Ft. Madison, Roberts won SEISO’s Young Artist Competition and made her soloist debut at the age of 17 with the Southeast Iowa Symphony performing Henri Tomasi’s Concerto for saxophone and orchestra.
The following year she was a featured soloist with the Des Moines Symphony in Des Moines; and the World Youth Symphony Orchestra at the Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, Mich.
