Conservation Department offers free ‘pioneer’ talks

The Henry County Conservation Department is holding informational workshop at the nature center.

Learn about “Famous Trees of Iowa” with speaker Cari Nicely on Aug. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Oakland Mills Nature Center. This presentation is a part of the center’s 2017 At the Park Explore Your Inner Pioneer series.

The conservation department’s next ACORN meeting will be held Aug. 24, at 10 a.m. in the Oakland Mills Nature Center classroom. Nicely will provide a PowerPoint presentation about planets and constellations followed by an overhead celestial demonstration. The sign up deadline is Aug. 21.
