Pleasant, presented the kit to Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Beavers, left, as Cindy Frary, right, and her minitature Schnauzer, Jennie, of Mt. Pleasant assist.

The Mt. Pleasant Fire Department went to the dogs Wednesday night.

The Southeast Iowa Kennel Club stopped by the Fire Department, Wednesday, Oct. 27, to donate a Fur Life 02 pet oxygen kit.

“We’re going to try to donate a kit every year,” kennel club member Muffin Chaney said. “We want to get one in every truck.”

Chaney and fellow kennel club member Cindy Frary felt the kit was needed to help the four-legged victims of fires. The Fur Life system can be employed in an emergency to

resuscitate animals affected by smoke inhalation, Chaney said.

“We’re just trying to promote responsible dog ownership,” Frary said.
