Aletha Joyce 'Sis Williams' Schwantes

Aletha Joyce ‘Sis Williams’ Schwantes, 78, of Birmingham, died Sunday, April 21, 2013 in Osceola.

A Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, May 18th at 10:30 a.m. at Dove Fellowship in Olds, with Rev. Richard White and Rev. Paul Williams officiating. Lunch will be served following service.

Mrs. Schwantes was born June 8, 1934, in Fairfield, the daughter of the late Paul L. and Sylvia E. Williams. She married Duane Maynard Schwantes in November 1960 in Fairfield.

She was a loving mother, homemaker, and devoted wife. She loved spending time in her garden and being a faithful member in her church at Dove Fellowship.

Mrs. Schwantes was preceded in death by her two sons, Danny Ryan and Maynard Schwantes; brothers, Marion and Edwin Williams; and one sister, Mabel Ruiz.

Survivors include her husband Don; two daughters, Lynn Hackwell and husband Kory of Granbury, TX, and Elizabeth Schulz and husband Michael of Lindale, TX; one son, Irvin Schwantes of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; five brothers, Keith, Jack, Jim, Bill, and Steve Williams; and two sisters Opal Eland and Paula Cook.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Danny Ryan, Paul Williams, Ralph Eland, Irvin Schwantes, Donald Eland, Maynard Schwantes, Larry Cook Jr., and Willy Williams.
