Area thefts lead to arrests

Two arrests have resulted from a Henry County Sheriff’s Office investigation that spanned two months and lead to a search of a residence in the 300 block of North Jay Street, Mt. Pleasant.

Todd Riley, 18, Crawfordsville, and Jacob Schroeder, 23, Mt. Pleasant, were arrested as a result of the investigation.

The investigation was the result of fuel thefts at three separate locations and a recent residential burglary.

Riley was charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree theft and three counts of third-degree theft.

Schroeder was charged with second-degree theft, possession of stolen property and two counts of third-degree theft.

Further charges are pending.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Mt. Pleasant Police Department.
