Audie Eugene Brown, 51, Burlington and formerly of New London, died Sunday, March 23, 2014, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 29, at Elliott Chapel, New London. The Rev. Matthew Hunt will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date in LaPlata, Mo. Friends may call after 9 a.m. on Saturday and the family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Memorials have been established to help pay funeral expenses and to the Iowa Donor Network.

He was born Sept. 12, 1962, in Burlington, and was the son of Helen Elizabeth Gilliland Shaw. He was a 1980 graduate of New London High and attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville. He graduated from Southeastern Community College with a Business degree.

He worked at the Flint Hills Municipal Golf Course, Motorola in Mt. Pleasant and in his younger years worked at McKinnon’s Primary Oil station in New London. He was a race car fan, enjoyed the Rolling Stones, the Hawkeyes, and had a passion for golf.

He is survived by one brother, Les (Julie) Shaw of Burlington; grandmother; and his step-father, Vester (Marylou) Shaw of Medina, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his mother and grandfather.
