Bobby "Dr. Bob" Mattocks

Bobby “Dr. Bob” Mattocks, 41, Wayland, died Monday, May 13, 2013, as the result of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

An open visitation will be held from noon to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 17, at the Olson-Powell Memorial Chapel for friends to sign the registry and leave memorials. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at the Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Ryker Mattocks Education Fund. Born April 10, 1972, in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of William Ray and Nancy Jane (Brooks) Mattocks. He was a 1990 graduate of WACO High School. On May 11, 1996, he married Heather Shadden.

For 20 years “Dr. Bob” has served as the production engineer at KILJ Radio Station. He enjoyed music and was the lead singer and tambourine player for Jiggle the Handle.

He liked fishing, “jeeping” and Batman. He was the head clown and an entertainer at the annual Midwest Old Threshers House of Terror. He also enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Ryker; and his mother, Nancy (Walt Campbell) Mattocks all of Wayland.

Preceding him in death are his father and a brother, Brian Mattocks.
