Bridges out of Poverty class focuses on employer training

Oct 04, 2017

Bridges out of Poverty is a Southeast Iowa initiative for manufacturing and business training. This free event takes place Tuesday, Oct. 17, at The Capitol Theater in downtown Burlington from 1 to 5 p.m.

All materials are included. A snack bar will be provided.

The training seeks to stop high employee turnover rate. Some of the biggest employers in Southeast Iowa struggle with a 40 to 181 percent employee turnover rate. The group says that there are over 1,000 open jobs in Southeast Iowa right now, but incentives in and of themselves are not making a difference in employee retention.

Bridges out of Poverty focuses on building bridges between employees and employers by training employees “a little differently.”
