Burdette hosts event for women

Oct 24, 2013

More than 75 percent of postmenopausal women may experience conditions that affect body image and self-esteem.
To help answer questions and dispel myths about menopause, Great River Health Systems is offering “Get Your Groove Back” – a free program for women experiencing menopausal symptoms. The program is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, in the Blackhawk Room at Great River Wellness Plaza, 1401 W. Agency Road, West Burlington, Iowa.
“Get Your Groove Back” will be presented by physician assistant Linda Burdette, a nationally known speaker in women’s health. An Iowa native, Burdette is a clinician in an obstetrics and gynecology practice in Yakima, Wash. She is also a clinical lecturer in women’s health at the University of Washington.
Burdette graduated from the University of Iowa physician assistant program and then earned her master’s degree of Physician Assistant Studies with an obstetrics/gynecology specialty from the University of Nebraska. She is a distinguished fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Registration for “Get Your Groove Back” is required. A light meal will be provided at 5 p.m. Those interested in attending should call Great River Corporate Education at 319-768-4070.
