Candice Kathlene Yarber, 65, New London, died Friday, July 26, 2013 at her home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 31, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, West Point with interment in Burge Cemetery, rural New London. Visitation will begin at noon on Tuesday at Elliott Chapel with the family receiving friends from 5 to 8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7 p.m. Memorials have been established for St. Mary’s Catholic Church and her families Relay For Life team.

She was born Oct. 23, 1947, in Mt. Pleasant to John Leon and Burnis Kathlene McGuire Smith. On Nov. 2, 1966, she married Thomas Yarber. She was a 1966 graduate of Doniphan, Mo. High School and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, West Point. She was a homemaker, who loved to cook, garden, can her produce, play computer games, read and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Cathy (Rueben) Coleman of Danville; one son, David (Peggy) Yarber of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Connie Pierce of Doniphan, Mo., Siegrid (Randy) Maness of Doniphan, Mo. And Christina (Ben) Payne of Poplar Bluff, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard Smith; and one sister Rena Battles.
