Carole Jean (Troutman) Haynes, 78, Bonaparte, died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at her home.

No visitation or services are planned. Burial will be at a later date.

Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home of Farmington is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Born July 2, 1935, in Bonaparte, she was the daughter of Elmer George and Gladys Irene (Cummings) Troutman. On Feb. 28, 1953, she married John Henry Haynes, Jr. He preceded her in death.

She was a 1953 graduate of Bonaparte High School. She loved animals of all kinds, especially horses. She also loved fast cars, midnight road trips, cowboy boots and silver spurs, birds and butterflies and an occasional Camel stud with a good book and a glass of sweet ice tea. She and her husband operated a service station in Keosauqua and later owned and operated a service station in Farmington.

Survivors include three daughters, Susanne Haynes Sasser, Janet Haynes Fett and Elizabeth Jean (Dean) Haynes Kuster all of Bonaparte; three sons, Fredrick Haynes of Evansville, Ind., Jon Douglas (Tina) Haynes of Stockport and Justin O. (Tammy) Haynes of Bonaparte; one brother, Gerald “Bud” (Barb) Troutman of Bonaparte; 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two step-great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two grandsons, one step-granddaughter and one step-great-grandson.
