Clarence Brecount, 65, Primrose, died Monday, Feb. 25, 2013, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, at Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson with the Rev. Bill Willis officiating.

Friends may call and meet with the family from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, March 1, at the Schmitz-Lynk Funeral Home in Donnellson.

Burial will be at the Embury Cemetery rural Donnellson with full military rites presented by the Donnellson American Legion Post #474. A memorial has been established in his memory. Online condolences may be made to the family at

Born Dec. 4, 1947, in Ft. Madison, he was the son of Clarence Ray Sr. and Elsie (Thomas) Brecount. On June 25, 2005 he married Sheila Kay Redden in Donnellson.

He retired from the factory maintenance department at the Burrows Paper Corporation in Ft. Madison.Prior to his work at Burrows he had worked for Ortho in Ft. Madison. He was a lifetime member of the National Wild Turkey Federation and was an avid deer and turkey hunter. He enjoyed woodworking.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tony (June) Brecount and Clarence Brecount III; one daughter, Amanda Oliver; two grandchildren; four sisters, Nikki (Bob) Hogan, Becky (Kevin) Britton, Lori (Dave) Buford and Lisa Brecount; three brothers, Steve (Shirley) Brecount, Tim (Georgia) Brecount and David Brecount; mother-in-law, Vonnie Redden; and three sister-in-laws, Sharon Redden, Sandy Smith and Sheri Long.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
