Connie Kay Jobe, 71, of Keokuk, Iowa died Saturday, June 23, 2018 at her home.

 

She was born February 26, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa the daughter of Vernon and Evelyn Allender Conrad. On August 12, 1966 she was united in marriage to Ronald Jobe. They later divorced, and eventually reunited and were partners for life. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2006.

 

Connie graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa with the Class of 1965. She then attended cosmetology school for one year.

 

Connie had been employed at Keokuk Motor Lodge and Fairfield Inn, both in Keokuk. She was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Keokuk.

 

Connie enjoyed reading mystery books, listening to pop, rock and country music and talking on the phone to her friends. She loved her cats and enjoyed caring for them. Connie liked to spend time outdoors taking walks, tending to her flower garden and watching the birds eat from the bird feeder.

 

She is survived by three sons, Brian Jobe (Michele) of Keokuk, Jeff Jobe (Sandra) of Keokuk and Jason Jobe (Amanda) of Quincy, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Brianna Jobe, Jared Jobe, Robert (Karaline) Eckhoff, Scot Jobe, Kennady Jobe, Celeste Fleming and Timothy McFarland; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Eckhoff; one brother, Merle Conrad (Jane) of Chariton, Iowa; one sister, Linda Harrison (Russell) of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

 

She was also preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Jaxon Jobe.

 

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, Iowa with Pastor Jason Mott officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m., Saturday, at the funeral home with family meeting with friends at that time.
