"Coping with the Holidays" seminar to be held

Nov 15, 2012

No one likes to think that the holidays are just around the corner, and yet for those who are suffering from the loss of a loved one, the holidays probably can’t be over soon enough.

Renowned grief therapist, Nick Longworth, of Cedar Rapids will be presenting several ideas on how to survive the upcoming holiday season. This annual seminar invites anyone who is enduring any type of loss to attend this helpful session. The “Coping with the Holidays” seminar will be held on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel, 709 E. Mapleleaf Drive, Mt. Pleasant.

Longworth is a licensed grief therapist and is a highly sought after speaker. He has spoken to thousands of people over the years on a variety of topics relating to loss through death. He has designed and facilitated bereavement support groups for people of all ages and consults with schools, businesses and other groups regarding sudden death.

Longworth received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and obtained his graduate degree from the St. Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Mo. After serving for six years as the chaplain for St. Luke’s Hospice, he is now the St. Luke’s Hospital director of pastoral care in Cedar Rapids.

This seminar is free of charge and everyone is encouraged to attend.
