The families of the late Clarence and Nina Lowe met in the fellowship hall of the United Church of Crawfordsville for a reunion on Sunday, June 11, 2017.

Representing the Lyle “Dude“ Lowe family were: Marie Lowe of Wayland and children, Phyllis Eisele of Washington and friend, Allaire George of Waterloo, Mary Fabian of Coralville, Linda and Gene Alvine of Loveland, Colo., Don and Carla Lowe of Wayland and Larry and Tammy Lowe and Kara of Crawfordsville; the family of the late Earl Lowe: Wayne and Debbie Lowe and Renee of Columbus Jct., and the late Cleo and Arlene Fletcher family: Kathy and Mick Garris of Winfield, Larry and Donna Fletcher of Crawfordsville, Steve and Pam Green and Fletcher of Washington and Brad and Carol Fletcher and Emma of Cedar Falls; the family of the late Betty and Cleo McCoy: Robyn and Bob Lamb of Washington, Lorna McCoy of Coralville and Craig and Karen McCoy of Crawfordsville. Bob Lowe and son, Mike Lowe of Brea, Calif.,and Frances Lowe of Winfield.

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, June, 12, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Ball Park. Seventeen members were present.

Lion President Billie Jo Rose called the meeting to order and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Larry Love offered prayer. Following a delicious meal prepared and served by Steve and Janice Williams and Larry Love, the meeting reconvened. Minutes from the May 22, 2017 meeting were approved as read. Treasurer Lion Randy Finke reported no activity in either account.

Correspondence: A thank-you card from the WACO After Prom Committee was passed around. Lion Nancy read the latest update on the club sponsored Leader Dog Prison Puppy and shared the picture of Crawford, their sponsored puppy.

Old Business: It was reported that 41 people gave blood at the June 5 Blood drive at the United Church of Crawfordsville.

New Business: It was moved, seconded and approved to make an additional contribution to the Iowa Lions Foundation. The date for the fall Pancake Breakfast is set for September 16 from 7:00-9:30 a.m. Larry Swailes will take care of the tickets, Gene Miller the sausage and Randy Finke will take care of other supplies. This will count for the second meeting of September. Proceeds from the breakfast will go to the scholarship fund. It was moved, seconded and approved to purchase two roasters. Lion Finke will take care of this. Plans are being made for the Crawfordsville Fun Day lunch at the ball park. On the menu: pork burgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks and popcorn. Randy will take care of the meat and buns; Lion Loree Stogdill will take care of drinks and chips. It was noted that new boards have been ordered to repair picnic tables and bleachers. Lions will help paint and install when the time comes. Cleanup for the Crawfordsville Fun Day will be Friday, June 30 at 6:00 p.m.
