The WACO High School Class of 1977 held their 40th reunion on Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at the United Church of Crawfordsville. The evening began with a tour of the Crawfordsville School building led by Jenny Kaufman. Seeing the school provided an opportunity for everyone to see the renovations.

Classmates and guests enjoyed a social hour and catered meal at the church. Greetings were read from Ronda Christener Hennings, Rhonda Roth Taylor, Cynthia Swan Webb, Kelly Rine Young and others who were unable to attend, but sent their best wishes to the class of ‘77.

Ceanne Alvine and Bruce Kaufman served as MC’s for the evening. The class was challenged to put themselves in “processional order” according to their last names at the time of graduation. Judy Grieser Ham led the class in the world premier of “WACO Jeopardy,” a trivia game based on high school memories and whatever else they could come up with when given the microphone. More than one version of a story was allowed (good thing!).

Many jokes, laughs and reminiscences filled the evening. For example, detention in Mr. Schrader’s office, racing to Wayland on 78 after school and numerous other escapades not fit to print. The party ended with “Old Irish Blessing” a song that was sung at graduation. Special thanks to the planning committee: Robert Achen, Ceanne Alvine, Randy Finke, Bruce Kaufman and Lyndon Leichty and Father Paul Connelly (former WACO softball coach) who was in attendance and took the pictures.
