Lions prepare for February Pancake Supper
By Billie Jo Rose | Feb 05, 2018

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, Jan. 22, at 7 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Community Room with 18 members in attendance.

After Lion President Lance Miller opened the meeting and led the Pledge of Allegiance and Nancy Love gave the invocation, guests Kathy Hotz and Dr. David Nacos, from the Washington County Hospital and Clinic, were introduced. They gave a very interesting program, speaking about changes in the way the hospital responds to patient care.

The minutes of the Jan. 8, meeting were approved as read. Treasurer Randy Finke gave the treasurer’s report.

Billie Jo Rose asked the club for feed back on the Christmas party. Comments were generally favorable. Miller called the club’s attention to the change in date for the Lone Tree Lions Pancake Supper, which was Jan. 26.

Tickets for the Feb. 17 Pancake Supper were distributed as well as posters for the event. Loree will contact local radio stations and request advertising in local newspapers. Part of the proceeds will go to assist Lara Hochstetler in her mission work with World Indigenous Missions.

It was noted that there will be several Lions members absent on the 17th for this event. Adam Mitchell will contact the Crawfordsville Community Club to ask for their help. Loree will call WACO High School to see if she can recruit people from the After-Prom committee to help, as a donation has already been made to their cause.

As there was no further business, the meeting adjourned to give way to the trivia expert Tail Twister Larry Fletcher for a rousing round of trivia.
