Dianne R. Bowser, 74, West Chester, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Maplewood Manor in Keota.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the West Chester United Methodist Church with the Revs. Marlene Janssen and Michael McAfee officiating. Burial will follow at the West Chester Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Jan. 22, from noon to 7 p.m. at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington, where the family will greet friends from 4 to7 p.m. A memorial fund has been established for the West Chester First Responders, Maplewood Manor and Hospice.

She was born April 18, 1938, in Wayland, and was the daughter of Millard H. and Leola Lee (Christner) Schlatter. She graduated from Wayland High School and was united in marriage to Ronald Bowser in West Chester on Jan. 13, 1958. She was a Certified Nurse Assistant and worked at many nursing homes and at the Washington County Hospital for 11 years. She was a member of the West Chester United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women and Discover Life, she was also a member of the Wayland Order of Eastern Star and a founding member of the West Chester First Responders. She was active in the Washington County Emergency Medical Services Association. She enjoyed playing cards and visiting with people. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters all of Keota, Cindy (John) Snedigar, Rhonda (Steve) Hahn, and Teri (Gary) Carl; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dick (Mary) Schlatter of Kalona.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Tony Bowser; and one sister, Shirley Ann Schlatter.
