Donald D. Adams, 73, Winfield, died Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, in the emergency room at Henry County Health Center.

Cremation has been accorded and there will be no visitation.

A graveside service was held today at 11 a.m. at the North Wayne Township Cemetery, north of Olds, with the Rev. Edward Spencer, Jr., officiating. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow at the Winfield Open Bible Church. A memorial has been established for the American Heart Association.

Honts Funeral Home in Winfield is assisting the family with arrangements.

The son of Homer and Ruby (Messer) Adams, he was born April 10, 1939 in Olds. On Sept. 12, 1966, he married Carolyn Bergen in Wapello. He was a graduate of the Olds High School. He served in the US Army during Vietnam. He worked at Tek-lab Mills in Winfield and Farmland Industries in Muscatine. Following retirement he worked as a security guard. He was a member of Winfield Open Bible Church and the V.F.W.

Survivors include his wife of Winfield; two sons, Ronald Adams of Winfield and Ryan Kirt Adams of Morning Sun; one daughter Rhonda Lynne Howard of Burlington; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Michael; one sister and one brother.
