Mt. Pleasant policemen were dispatched to 401 N. Broadway shortly before 7 a.m. Nov. 4 to investigate a report of a vehicle striking a residence.

Upon arrival, police learned the vehicle had left the scene of the accident.

An investigation revealed that a 2004 Pontiac minivan, owned by Christina Barron and operated by Carlos Castro of Mt. Broadway and struck the southeast corner of the house.

Damage to the house was confined to exterior masonry and structural damage to the interior of the home. Total monetary damage to the house is unknown at this time.

Castro and the vehicle soon were located at 208 S. Jefferson St. Damage to the Barron vehicle was estimated at $10,000 and the vehicle was considered a total loss.
