Born December 29, 1940, in Glasgow, Iowa, Earnestine Lucile was the daughter of Lloyd Earnest and Doris Lucile (Williamson) Septer. She graduated, valedictorian, from Birmingham High School in 1958.  On September 1, 1968, she married Wayne E. Harvey at the First Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her in death on January 9, 2004.

Knowing the Lord at a young age, Earnestine lived her life in service to Him. She was especially active with children's ministry, spending 46 years teaching Sunday School, directing Children's Christmas programs, leading Bible School, sharing her puppet ministry, and serving in the Awana program. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, and after her health declined she joined Salem Congregational Church near her home.

Earnestine was also a member of the Business Professional Women. She enjoyed painting by number. Her greatest love and priority was spending time with family.

Surviving Earnestine is one son, Christopher (Sherrie) Harvey of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; two granddaughters, Olivia Harris and Kaitlin Jennings of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; two sisters, Retha Sammons of Salem, Iowa, and Janice (Jim) Miller of Fulton, Mo.; one sister-in-law, Judy Septer of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with her parents and husband, Earnestine was preceded in death by two brothers, Earnest (Shirley) Septer and Ronald Septer; a sister, Ruth Septer in infancy; and a brother-in-law, Don Sammons.
