Edna Pauline Walker

Edna Pauline Walker, 93, of New London, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at the New London Nursing and Rehab Center.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elliott Chapel, New London. The Rev. Ralph Anderson will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and interment will be held at Burge Cemetery, rural New London. Memorials have been established for Peace Lutheran Church and the New London Nursing and Rehab Center Activity Fund.

She was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Sperry, to Frederick and Orpha Siefken Wischmeier. On Jan. 17, 1954, she married Wilbur Frederick Walker. He preceded her in death.

She was a graduate of Sperry High School and a member of Peace Lutheran Church at Prairie Grove. She was a member of the women’s circle at church and the NU Club. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, knitting, sewing, crafts, cooking, canning and gardening.

She is survived by two sons, Ron (Mary) Walker of Knoxville, and Roger (Diane) Walker of New London; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers; Herbert and Howard Wischmeier; and one sister, Dorothy Funk.
