Eleanor Lucille Hyndman Draper was born on July 23, 1929 on a farm southwest of Cumberland, Iowa, the daughter of Cecil and Grace White Hyndman. She attended Pringey Country School thru 8th grade. In 1947, she graduated from Cumberland High School. Following her graduation, she taught at Pringey School for two years. In 1949 Eleanor began attending the Omaha Bible Institute in Omaha, Neb. There she met her future husband, Ralph L. Draper. They were united in marriage following her graduation on June 8, 1952. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2013.

Throughout the 50 plus years of Rev. Ralph Draper's preaching, Eleanor faithfully served by his side. They had a deep love for their Savior as well as each other.  In 1968 Ralph, Eleanor and their family moved to Henry County. Eleanor graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mt. Pleasant in 1976 with a BA degree in Elementary Education. She loved people and was a faithful prayer warrior. She loved writing stories and in her later years wrote several stories about her childhood. She also was a gifted musician. In her early years she played baritone, accordion, guitar and the piano. Until her declining health she regularly attended Calvary Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant. Eleanor played special music occasionally at church as well as at Sunnybrook, where she resided, much to the joy of all who heard her.

Those left to cherish her memories are her children, David (Gene) Draper of Rockford, Ill., Stephen (Laura) Draper of Taylor, Mich. and Martha (Vernon) Tannahill of Spring City, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; her sister, Charlotte (Larry) Laird of Carmel, Ind.; several nieces and nephews; special friends Carl & Diane Wickham; and a host of friends and loved ones.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.murphyfuneralandmonuments.com. Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant is handling the arrangements.
