Elizabeth Lucille Boyer

Elizabeth Lucille Boyer, 95, of Ft. Madison, died on Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at The Madison, in Ft. Madison.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at the Schmitz Funeral Home, in Donnellson. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, at the Schmitz Funeral Home, in Donnellson, with Rev. Dave Barrett officiating. Burial will be at the Embury Cemetery, in rural Donnellson.

A memorial has been established for Embury Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at The Schmitz Funeral Home, in Donnellson, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Boyer was born on April 8, 1921, in Memphis, Mo., the daughter of Alvis and Mary Hamilton Stice. She graduated from Keokuk High School. On May 27, 1942, she married Kenneth Boyer, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death.

She worked at Sheller-Globe for 21 years, retiring in 1986.

She enjoyed watching NASCAR, baking, crocheting afghans, reading, doing word search and sudoku puzzles, and camping.

Boyer is survived by her two daughters, Judy (Jim) Billings, of Keokuk; and Janet (Stephen) Gregory, of Webster, Fla.; one son, Wayne (Linda) Boyer, of Rapid City, S.D.; six grandsons; one granddaughter; five great-grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.

She was precede in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; one son, Donald Boyer; two sisters: and one brother.
