Evaline Jean Cole, 86, of Bonaparte died on Sunday, Dec. 18, 2016, at Van Buren County Hospital, Keosauqua.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2016, in Keosauqua United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mary K. Hart officiating. Visitation will open at 3 p.m., on Wednesday, at Pedrick Funeral Home, in Keosauqua, with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Greenglade Cemetery, in Farmington.

Memorials to Keosauqua United Methodist Church may be left at the funeral home or church, or they may be mailed to the family at 201 First Street, Bonaparte, Iowa 52620.

Cole was born on May 13, 1930, in rural Fairfax, the daughter of William and Marie Vostrel Dusil. She graduated from high school in Cedar Rapids.

She worked at Welch-Cook-Beals Co., and Kenway Sewer Service, both in Cedar Rapids, and retired from Cedar Rapids Animal Shelter as a secretary.

She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, crosswords, puzzles, crocheting afghans, and watching her birds.

She was a member of Keosauqua United Methodist Church.

Cole is survived by her daughter, Valerie Tollefson, and her son, Dean (Sherri) Cole, all of Bonaparte; several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and three sisters, Anita Fuller, of Toddville; and Loraine Sakulin and Betty (Bob) Slaton, both of Cedar Rapids.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and four brothers.
