The United Church of Crawfordsville Vacation Bible School is Monday, June 18, through Friday, June 22, from 5:30-8 p.m. and is for ages preschool through sixth-grade. The theme this year is SonSurf Beach Bash.

The Crawfordsville Lions Club met Monday, June 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Crawfordsville Ball Park with 13 members present.  Lion President Lance Miller called the meeting to order and Lion Larry Fletcher gave the invocation.

After a delicious meal provided by Lion Larry Love, the meeting reconvened. The minutes of the May 14 meeting were approved as read and the treasurer gave his report.

Old Business: There is a possibility of procuring a stove and refrigerator for the shack at the ballpark in the near future. The June 4 blood drive produced 40 units of blood. It was moved, seconded and approved to send Camp Courageous a donation for their solar panel request. It was noted that clean up for Crawfordsville Fun Day will be Thursday, July 5 at 6 p.m. as there is an activity scheduled for that Friday evening. On the menu the Lions will be serving pork burgers, hot dogs, chips, pop and popcorn.

New Business: The Fall Pancake breakfast will be held Saturday, September 15 at the ball field. Lion Gene Miller will take care of the meat and Lion Finke will make the other purchases. It was moved, seconded and approved to make an additional donation to the Iowa Lions Foundation.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. Lion Tail Twister Fletcher entertained the club with trivia from the 1980s.
