Fireball Run to be filmed in Burlington next week

Sep 21, 2017

BURLINGTON — The legendary eight-day, 2,000 mile life-size trivial pursuit road rally competition is being filmed in downtown Burlington on Tuesday, Sept. 26, and Wednesday, Sept. 27. The public is welcome to attend the filming of Amazon’s Fireball Run: Big Country’s 11th season.

Tuesday’s events will take place from 3 to 6 p.m. at the corner of 4th and Jefferson St. On Wednesday, teams begin the next leg of their journey at 7 a.m., and the green flag will drop at 9 a.m. for their departure from Burlington.

Approximately 40 teams from across the country will battle it out, exploring under-discovered places and obscure historic artifacts while aiding in the U.S.’s largest active recovery effort for missing kids.

Each season of Fireball Run teams are assigned a missing child to actively advocate for during the show. This partnership with the Child Rescue Network is America’s largest active recovery effort for missing kids. In 10 seasons, the contestants have aided in the recovery of 50 missing children.

Team Burlington has been assigned the case of Erin Pospisil from Cedar Rapids, who went missing in 2001 at the age of 15. Her story can be found at Team Burlington will distribute posters throughout the journey.
