NORTH LIBERTY — Three members of Mt. Pleasant’s state champion boys’ basketball team were drafted to play in the Prime Time basketball league in North Liberty this summer.

Jordan Ashton, Nick Lyon and Cameron Frank will be playing games with and against a number of other area standouts, including members of the Iowa Hawkeye basketball team.

Ashton, who now attends Northwest Missouri State, was picked to play for Coach Kevin Lehman. His teammates include Hawkeyes Zach McCabe and Gabe Olaseni, as well as T.J. Lake, who was part of the 2012 Class 3A state runner-up team, Western Dubuque, and now plays for Minnesota State.

Lyon, who is currently at Southeastern Community College, is playing with Iowa’s Devyn Marble and Josh Oglesby on Coach Kevin Sanders’ team.

Frank, who plans to attend and play basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside in the fall, was chosen for Coach Dan Ahrens’ team, and he is playing with Hawkeyes Mike Gesell and Kyle Denning.

The Prime Time league games began on June 20, and the teams also played on June 23. Their next contest is scheduled for Thursday, June 27, and the season runs through the championship game on July 21.

All games are played at the North Liberty Community Center located at 520 W. Cherry St. in North Liberty.
