Gary C. Dill, 74, Fairfield, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Joe Phipps officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Fairfield. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church and the First Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund. Arrangements are in the care of the Raymond Funeral Home in Fairfield. He was born Oct. 12, 1938, at home in Washington County, the son of Cloyce “Shorty” and Bernice Dunbar Dill. He grew up in Washington County near Keota. He attended Keota schools and graduated from Keota High School. He attended Central College .

He married Frieda Weerman on June 27, 1959, at the West Chester Federated Church.

They lived in the Fairfield community.

He worked in marketing for Standard Oil Agricultural Chemical division. He marketed Iowa Economic Development programs for 11 years at Indian Hills Community College from 1989 until 2000.

He was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Fairfield, where he served on the Board of Elders and was Chairman of the Property committee and sang in the church choir. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are his wife; one son, Mark (Melanie) Dill of Dubuque; two daughters, Kari Fulton of St. Louis, Mo., Sheri (Steve) Billings of New London; 13 grandchildren; four siblings, Robert Dill of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Audrey Harvey of Washington, Janice (Rollin) Royce of Janesville, Wis., and Cheryl Dill of Washington.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Debbie Dill and Pauline Dill Crull; and a brother, Terry Dill.
