Get out your walking shoes June 22

Jun 10, 2013

Preparations are being finalized for the annual Henry County Relay for Life to be hosted on the Iowa Wesleyan College campus Saturday, June 22, from noon until midnight.

Activities begin at 11:15 a.m. with the survivor meal, honoring all who have battled and still are battling cancer. Opening ceremonies follow with the survivor/caregiver lap.

Activities throughout the day include a silent auction, desert auction, scavenger hunt and bingo.

During the event, there will be activities and entertainment for people of all ages.

The luminaria ceremony and Chinese lantern release will be at 8 p.m. to honor and remember survivors and loved ones lost.

All area residents are invited to attend and aid in the fight against cancer, helping “create a world with more birthdays.”
