H. Lucille Willey, 95, of New London, died on Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, at New London Specialty Care.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017, at Elliott Chapel, in New London. Rev. Kathleen Wohlers will officiate with burial in Burge Cemetery, in New London. Visitation will begin after noon on Friday, with the family receiving friends from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Memorials have been established to New London Specialty Care and Peace Lutheran Church.

Willey was born on Oct. 28, 1921, in Milton, the daughter of Lloyd and Blanche McCleland Madden. She attended Libertyville Schools and was a graduate of Fairfield High School. On Nov. 14, 1942, she married Wesley Willey, in Kahoka, Mo. He preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker and was also bookkeeper for her husband’s insurance business.

She enjoyed growing roses with her husband, bowling, dancing, baking oatmeal cookies during the holidays, and playing cards and dominoes at the care center.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church at Prairie Grove, in West Burlington.

Willey is survived by her daughters, Connie (Don) Havener, of DeWitt, Karen (Don) Johnson, and Peg (Brian) Parks, both of New London; her son, Wes (Marla) Willey, of New London; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Willa Beranek and Dorothy Madden; two brothers, George Lee and Max Madden; and one grandson.
